When is the next Vera Bradley Outlet Sale? I have had a lot of people ask me this question! Right now, the next sale is scheduled for April 28 - May 1, 2010, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It doesn't look like there will be a fall sale this year. To keep current with news about the outlet sale, as well as giveaways and more, make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed or follow me on Twitter...

I have talked a little bit here about how I love to scrapbook and make cards, and this morning I came across a challenge on the Split Coast Stampers forum that I had to share with everyone here...

The point of this challenge is that participants have to make handmade cards inspired by Vera Bradley patterns and colors.  Here is just a small sample of the cards submitted to the challenge so far:

Vera Bradley Card

Raspberry Fizz Vera Bradley Card

Mediterranean White Vera Bradley Card

Purple Punch Vera Bradley Card

Beautiful, aren't they!  Can you tell what pattern was used as inspiration for each card? Continue Reading »

Do you want to get the Vera Bradley Small Tic Tac Tote at a great price?  For three days only (November 18 - 20, 2009), these cute totes, which normally retail for $55.00, are just $19.00.

Although there is not an outlet sale this fall, these are the types of deals I love to find when I go, so I couldn't help but spread the word about this great bargain (especially so close to Christmas)!  To take advantage of the sale, visit the Tic Tac Tote page on VeraBradley.com.

I just checked what colors are available, and although quantities are limited, here is the selection they had when I checked their website: Continue Reading »

I can't get over the fact that I'm already talking about the 2010 Vera Bradley Planner, but time flies, and the new year is really only a couple of months away!  I already have a handful of appointments scheduled for next year, so even though it seems much too early to be talking about this topic, I have to be planning for January 1 and the days that follow.

This year's agenda is 7" x 8½" x 1½" and features a one inch three ring binder design.  The calendar is tab-separated and runs from August 2009 through December 2010 - yep, that means you can starting using it right away, rather than waiting until next year (one more reason to get it now!).  It also includes 164 pages with lists, a movable pocket, bookmark, and sticker sheet.  The 2010 Vera Bradley Planner comes in fall and winter's new signature colors - Pirouette, Carnaby, Blue Rhapsody, Symphony in Hue, Imperial Toile and Paprika. Vera Bradley PaprikaThere were three new signature fabrics released for winter 2009, and because I have already talked about two of them, I have just one more to discuss - the Vera Bradly Paprika pattern.  Of the three new patterns, I thought this one would be my favorite.  However, as you may already know from reading my earlier posts, Symphony in Hue won out in the end, after seeing the fabrics in person.

I think the name is what first attracted me to this style.  With fair skin and hair, warm, spicy colors tend to dominate the colors I have in my closet.  Based on its name, I assumed that the Vera Bradley Paprika pattern would fit right in.  However, it's a bit brighter than I envisioned, and in the end, I don't think it's the best choice for me.  Luckily, no two people are alike, and I'm sure that this will be a favorite of others who have the complexion to pull off the colors in this pattern. Vera Bradley Imperial ToileHave you seen the Vera Bradley Imperial Toile in person yet?  When pictures of this pattern first surfaced, I thought it was in shades of black and ivory.  I have talked to several others who thought the same thing too, many who were disappointed to learn that the toile pattern had no black at all, but rather dark brown.

I have to admit that I'm torn.  I really liked the idea of the black and ivory mix, just because it would look great with many of the fall and winter clothes I have in my closet.  However, pinks and browns are one of my favorite color combinations too, and this fabric's pink accents are definitely eye catching (and really cute too!).   Continue Reading »

vera-bradley-symphony-in-hue-stationaryMy first glimpse of the recently released Vera Bradley Symphony in Hue was back in June.  Christmas stockings made from this pattern were passed out at the 2009 Tony Awards.

Based on these pictures, I have to reluctantly admit that I was not initially impressed with this pattern.  However, when in doubt, I have found that sometimes the best thing to do is to wait until I can see it in person.  I have been wanting to make a trip to my local Vera Bradley store to do just that, but since the kids have been back to school, the only time I spend on the road is shuttling them back and forth to school, and my sixth grader to football practices and games. Not long ago, I posted that a new limited edition line was going to be introduced for autumn - the Vera Bradley Canvas Collection. It's now been available for the past couple of weeks in select stores, and for those of you lucky enough to have seen these new bags in person (or to own one), I'm curious to know if you like them as much as I do!

Vera Bradley Canvas

The handbags in this line feature durable, stain-resistant canvas. The creamy, quilted fabric is beautifully accented with rich brown suede details and sturdy webbed straps. They are a little pricier than the signature cotton styles - the Cedar Duffel retails for $165, the Birchwood Backpack for $120, and the Chestnut Tote for $105. Continue Reading »

In case you missed it, Vera Bradley has their new Winter 2009 colors posted on their Facebook page.  They are...

Vera Bradley Imperial Toile

Imperial Toile

Vera Bradley Paprika

Paprika

Vera Bradley Symphony in Hue

Symphony in Hue

They are not in stores yet, but my guess is that it shouldn't be too long before these are available (possibly September?).  I actually like all three, and I definitely can't wait to see them in person!

However, I'm even more excited to see the new specialty collections...   Continue Reading »

In case you haven't heard yet, the first Vera Bradley Outlet Store will be opening in November! The store will be located at the Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora, Illinois, and will feature merchandise discounted 25% to 40% off.

According to the article that I read, the company chose this location because it is one of the top ten largest outlet malls in the United States. Although there are no immediate plans to open similar stores, it's in their business strategy, and we may see more at some time down the road. Continue Reading »

The Vera Bradley Microfiber Tote giveaway is now closed.  Thank you to everyone who entered!  Make sure you check back in soon for your next chance to win...

This is one of the best giveaways yet! This time I have a beautiful Vera Bradley Microfiber City Tote to give to one of my lucky visitors...

Vera Bradley Microfiber Tote Bag Giveaway

I love this bag! More than once, I have had to resist the temptation to tear the price tag off and to declare it "MINE!". It is so pretty. However, I purchased it with the intention of giving it away, and so, that's what I'm going to do!

Before we go into the giveaway details, I will tell you a little bit about it...

* This tote is a beautiful limited edition style from the black microfiber collection. Although the style is now retired, it will never go out of style.

* It features double quilted stitching. Many of the microfiber bags feature contrasting stitching, but this one has coordinating black stitching.

* It has eye-catching chrome-colored rivet and buckle details. Very classy looking!

* Pockets? Of course! It has a large slip pocket on the front exterior of the tote. Inside, there are two smaller slip pockets, as well as one large zippered pocket.

* Although it's a "tote", the main compartment does have a zipper closure, and the overall styling is more like a purse.

* The suggested retail price is $90.00.

Now, for the giveaway details: Continue Reading »
