Vera Bradley Hello Dahlia: Thoughts of Autumn

The Vera Bradley Hello Dahlia print is perhaps the prettiest pattern of the fall 2010 season!

I'm a midwestern girl through and through, and that's probably why autumn is my favorite season.  It will be here before we know it, won't it?  In addition to the colors of the changing leaves, the hand-carved pumpkins, and the corn stalks wrapped around light posts, I have a special place in my heart for the mums and dahlias that start filling up the flower beds starting in late summer.

Will Vera Bradley Slate Blooms Replace Java Blue?

Have you noticed that the new Vera Bradley Slate Blooms pattern, which was introduced with the fall 2010 styles, has a similar color scheme to Java Blue?  There's been some chatter on Facebook and on other online message boards that this new fabric just might replace the longstanding and much-loved Java Blue.  What do you think?

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say not just yet!  I wish they didn't have to retire any pattern - although I know it's necessary to make way for the new styles, I really hate to see any of them go.  But fortunately, Java Blue is now available in the newer styles, including the Metropolitan, the Side by Side Tote, the Julia Handbag, and the redesigned Hipster. The Vera Bradley Barcelona – What Do You Think?

Occasionally, a pattern comes out that I'm not too sure about.  The new Vera Bradley Barcelona pattern, which was released recently with the other fall 2010 introductions, is one such fabric.  When I first saw the sneak peek pics that started making their rounds about the internet earlier in the year, I thought for sure that I would like this pattern.  After all, it appeared to be neutral enough, with its easy to pair color combo of off white and black.

Of course, I was just taking peeks at samples, without seeing the pattern in person, or even on any handbags.  Some lucky people received sneak peek glances at the signature stores earlier in the year, and while they had lots of good things to say about the pattern itself, the verdict was out on the striped trim. Vera Bradley Very Berry Paisley – The Wait is Over!

We got a sneak peek at the Vera Bradley Very Berry Paisley pattern at the 2010 Tony Awards. I love sneak peeks, but there is just one problem - it makes the wait that much longer! However, there's good news...

As of Thursday, July 8th, the wait is finally over, and this new pattern is now available, along with the other fall 2010 styles.

From eye candy to arm candy, I predict this paisley print will be popular! It's already one of my top favorites of all time, and I have a hard time picking favorites, so that's saying something. However, for me, it was love at first sight. [Read more...]

Get Ready for the Vera Bradley Fall 2010 Patterns

We have to wait just a few more days for the release of the new Vera Bradley fall 2010 patterns. They make their big debut in stores and online on Thursday, July 8th.

Personally, I am really excited about the fall collection. From the sneak peek pics I have seen, I have to say that I adore all four patterns! It's going to be a tough time picking a favorite.

Here's a quick thirty second video that gives you a peek at all four new fall patterns...

Getting Ready for Summer with Vera Bradley Accessories

Hey everyone!  Has it really been more than a month since I last checked in?  Where does the time go!   Well, now that school is winding down and summer is finally here, I will hopefully check back in a little more often. Speaking of summer, I thought I would take a little time today to talk about some of my favorite summer Vera Bradley accessories...

Flip Flops: I have to admit that I have way too many Vera Bradley flip flops, but I love them all!  With most styles costing under $25.00, I consider them an affordable splurge!

Mini Cooler: Ick!  Have you every taken a swig of water from a bottle that has been sitting in a hot car for a couple of hours?  In my opinion, a Vera Bradley mini cooler is a must for these hot summer months.  When I'm leaving to run errands, I grab not only my water bottle, but an ice pack and my mini cooler as well.

Beach Towels: Much to my kids' dismay (both boys), I have a large collection of Vera Bradley beach towels.  They are nice and thick, and are great for not only drying off after a dip in the pool, but for wrapping around and warming up in when the air gets a little chilly.  Now they just need to make some prints my boys will like.  Do you think I will get anywhere with a suggestion for a Batman print? Outlet Sale Closes Early on Friday

Yikes, I just saw this on Vera Bradley's Twitter feed:

Thanks for making this a record-breaking Sale! We're closing the doors for the day. Come this weekend! Saturday 8am-8pm, Sunday 10am-5pm.

I'm going to keep this short.  I have to get dinner started for my crew (kiddos and husband), but I wanted to get the word out.  If you were planning to go this evening, it's time to make different plans.  Hopefully, tomorrow will be better!

Crazy Lines at the 2010 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale

There seemed to be no end to the lines at the 2010 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale today!  I arrived this morning (right around 8:30) with the thought that even if I did have to wait in line, it wouldn't be too long.  After all, the sale had just opened half an hour before my arrival.  I have also attended on previous years at that same time, never having much of a wait.

Wow - was I wrong!  The line outside was long, but it seemed to be moving at a good pace, so I took my place at the back and started chatting with the ladies who were waiting with me.  Here's a picture I took while outside, but to be frank, it doesn't even begin to tell the story.  To get a true picture, I would have needed to take an aerial shot!

Within an hour, we were walking in the front doors of the Coliseum, thinking it was time to do some shopping.  But no, it wasn't time for shopping - it was time for more waiting.   [Read more...]
