The 2011 Vera Bradley Quilt

I was just on Twitter and came across the picture of the Vera Bradley quilt that will be on display at this year's outlet sale. One of a kind and handmade from the beautiful Twirly Birds Pink pattern, it's absolutely gorgeous! I have posted a picture of it below, so make sure you check it out...

I believe the drawing for the quilt will be in June. It usually costs a dollar or two to enter your name for the drawing, but it's well worth it, considering all the proceeds benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.

This year, there will also be a drawing for an adorable playhouse. The playhouse was donated by Window, Doors & More, a home improvement company here in Fort Wayne, and features a handpainted mural by local muralist Deb Miner. Proceeds from this drawing will also benefit the Foundation. [Read more...]

2011 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale Updates

It's been awhile since I provided any updates for the 2011 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale!  Can you believe it's less than a week away? I don't have too much to say yet - just a couple of reminders.  Next week I will have a lot more information.  As soon as I get home Wednesday, I plan to post the price list, along with any pictures I take.  Can't wait!

First, here's a fun video I found of last year's sale.  If you have never attended, it's a great little sneak peek of what to expect.  Or, if you have attended in the past, it may bring back some memories!  Just ignore the dates in the video (they're from 2010).

And now, for the reminders... [Read more...]

Two More Vera Bradley Outlet Stores Opening This Month!

The number of Vera Bradley Outlet Stores is set to double this month, with the grand opening of not one, but two more stores!

The first store, located in Texas at the San Marcos Premium Outlets, opened just this week, a little earlier than its previously scheduled grand opening of October 8th.

I have never been to Texas, but if I do visit there, this outlet center is on my list of places to stop.  It is one of the largest outlet shopping centers in the world, with 140 different stores, and it is also one of the most visited tourist attractions in Texas - go figure!  It sounds like a fun place to visit - hmmm, anyone in the mood for a road trip?

The second store is set to open at the Premium Outlets in Leesburg, Virginia, on Friday, October 22nd.  [Read more...]

Vera Bradley Hello Dahlia: Thoughts of Autumn

The Vera Bradley Hello Dahlia print is perhaps the prettiest pattern of the fall 2010 season!

I'm a midwestern girl through and through, and that's probably why autumn is my favorite season.  It will be here before we know it, won't it?  In addition to the colors of the changing leaves, the hand-carved pumpkins, and the corn stalks wrapped around light posts, I have a special place in my heart for the mums and dahlias that start filling up the flower beds starting in late summer.

Will Vera Bradley Slate Blooms Replace Java Blue?

Have you noticed that the new Vera Bradley Slate Blooms pattern, which was introduced with the fall 2010 styles, has a similar color scheme to Java Blue?  There's been some chatter on Facebook and on other online message boards that this new fabric just might replace the longstanding and much-loved Java Blue.  What do you think?

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say not just yet!  I wish they didn't have to retire any pattern - although I know it's necessary to make way for the new styles, I really hate to see any of them go.  But fortunately, Java Blue is now available in the newer styles, including the Metropolitan, the Side by Side Tote, the Julia Handbag, and the redesigned Hipster.
