Vera Bradley Hello Dahlia: Thoughts of Autumn

The Vera Bradley Hello Dahlia print is perhaps the prettiest pattern of the fall 2010 season!

I'm a midwestern girl through and through, and that's probably why autumn is my favorite season.  It will be here before we know it, won't it?  In addition to the colors of the changing leaves, the hand-carved pumpkins, and the corn stalks wrapped around light posts, I have a special place in my heart for the mums and dahlias that start filling up the flower beds starting in late summer.

Will Vera Bradley Slate Blooms Replace Java Blue?

Have you noticed that the new Vera Bradley Slate Blooms pattern, which was introduced with the fall 2010 styles, has a similar color scheme to Java Blue?  There's been some chatter on Facebook and on other online message boards that this new fabric just might replace the longstanding and much-loved Java Blue.  What do you think?

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say not just yet!  I wish they didn't have to retire any pattern - although I know it's necessary to make way for the new styles, I really hate to see any of them go.  But fortunately, Java Blue is now available in the newer styles, including the Metropolitan, the Side by Side Tote, the Julia Handbag, and the redesigned Hipster. The Vera Bradley Barcelona – What Do You Think?

Occasionally, a pattern comes out that I'm not too sure about.  The new Vera Bradley Barcelona pattern, which was released recently with the other fall 2010 introductions, is one such fabric.  When I first saw the sneak peek pics that started making their rounds about the internet earlier in the year, I thought for sure that I would like this pattern.  After all, it appeared to be neutral enough, with its easy to pair color combo of off white and black.

Of course, I was just taking peeks at samples, without seeing the pattern in person, or even on any handbags.  Some lucky people received sneak peek glances at the signature stores earlier in the year, and while they had lots of good things to say about the pattern itself, the verdict was out on the striped trim. Vera Bradley Very Berry Paisley – The Wait is Over!

We got a sneak peek at the Vera Bradley Very Berry Paisley pattern at the 2010 Tony Awards. I love sneak peeks, but there is just one problem - it makes the wait that much longer! However, there's good news...

As of Thursday, July 8th, the wait is finally over, and this new pattern is now available, along with the other fall 2010 styles.

From eye candy to arm candy, I predict this paisley print will be popular! It's already one of my top favorites of all time, and I have a hard time picking favorites, so that's saying something. However, for me, it was love at first sight. [Read more...]

Looking for a Diaper Backpack?

As many of you know, Vera Bradley does not make a diaper backpack.  Sure, they have the baby bag - and if you are lucky enough to own one, then you know it's loaded with lots of space and pockets, both of which are must-have necessities for every new parent.

However, I know many people that pass on it because they really want a diaper bag backpack.  For anyone who has ever had to lug around a fifteen pound baby in a carrier car seat, it's no secret why this style is proving to be very popular with the new mommy (and daddy) crowd.  With little ones, you need an extra set of arms.  Of course, we were born with only two, and that's the way it stays (even when we really need more)!  So, if you can throw your bag behind your back and forget about it until you need it, well, that's one less worry.  And that is just one of the many reasons that more expecting and new parents are favoring diaper backpacks over the traditional styles.  [Read more...]
