In case you haven't heard yet, the first Vera Bradley Outlet Store will be opening in November! The store will be located at the Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora, Illinois, and will feature merchandise discounted 25% to 40% off.
According to the article that I read, the company chose this location because it is one of the top ten largest outlet malls in the United States. Although there are no immediate plans to open similar stores, it's in their business strategy, and we may see more at some time down the road.
How does this affect the Vera Bradley Outlet Sale? There is one currently scheduled for spring 2010, and the company has no plans to cancel it. The sale will be held at the Allen County Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana, from April 28 through May 1, 2010. However, with the announcement of their new outlet store, I think it's looking less likely that they will have a fall sale this year.
What do I think about this announcement? I think it's about time they opened an outlet store! However, I love going to the big outlet sale, and I can't help but wonder if the one scheduled in the spring will be their last. I guess we will have to wait and see...

I know the spring sale is scheduled in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and they recently opened an outlet store in Illinois. I also heard that they may have more outlet stores in the works, so maybe Atlanta will get lucky and end up with one of those!
