I have received a lot of questions lately about the spring 2010 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale, so I thought I would provide you with a quick update...
First of all, let's talk about the date and location. This year's sale will be held in Fort Wayne, Indiana, at the Allen County Memorial Coliseum. It is scheduled for April 29th through May 1st. Please note that the date has changed. Vera Bradley had originally stated that it would begin on the 28th, but recently updated their website to now show that it will start a day later. I do not yet have the hours for the sale, but as soon as I know something, I will post it here on my blog.
If you have never attended the event before, I have put together a little "summary" of what you can expect - click here for my 2010 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale overview. It covers the questions that I commonly receive, including what types of selection and pricing are available, the best places to stay in Fort Wayne, how to get to the Allen County Memorial Coliseum, and more. Of course, if you have any questions that were not answered on that page, please post them here, and I will do my best to answer them.
At the 2009 outlet sale, attendees were required to pre-register. Registration could be done online or onsite. I'm not sure if there will be a registration requirement to attend this year. There seemed to be some kinks in the system last year, and hopefully they either have them worked out by now, or if not, will forego this requirement. Once again, as soon as I know something, I will post it here.
Right now, April seems like it's a long way off, but it will be here before we know it! I'm anxiously looking forward to the 2010 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale, but in the meantime, I will do my best to keep everyone updated as new information is released. Keep checking back. You can also follow me on Twitter or subscribe to my feed to get the latest information as soon as it's posted.

My sister, neices and I are planning on going to the 2010 sale in April. Any info that I can get before hand is really appreciated, as we have not ever been. Thanks
Not sure if you realized or not – I checked the Vera website – the dates are April 29th (Thur) – May 1st (Sat). ONLY 3 days this year instead of 5!! Not sure if they changed this – you may want to update your blog (you have the 28th -1st). Think this will be a disaster – there will be way too many people!!
Wonder if since the outlet store in Aurora opened they feel they don’t have as much to distribute this year? Perhaps the selection will be less? It should be interesting . . .
Thanks Michelle P. for the update on the dates of the event. I put in for vacation back in Oct. so I will need to update my request.
you made me cry
Hi Michelle P,
Thanks for the update. They must have just made this change. I will work on getting the word out…
If anyone knows the answer to my 3 questions, I’d most greatly appreciate the info. Thanks in advance: 1) Can I bring a small rolling carrier into the sale (like the kind you use at IKEA?) 2) Is the initial price list available in advance. 3) I’m anticipating long checkout lines, do you think it is a good idea to bring my children (aged 9) to help stand in line so we can rotate off to the bathroom, if needed?
I wish I could make it out there. I would really love to get a tall tote in java blue. ebay has been so overpriced.
Hi Trina,
I’m not sure about the rolling carrier – I have never seen anyone with one there. They do give you a large pink garbage bag to carry around your items before you purchase them. Many people will also find a super tote or other large bag they want to buy, and they will put their smaller items in that to make them easier to carry around until checkout time.
I have never seen the initial price list posted in advance. I normally will go the first day of the sale, and post the price list here when I get home. However, they make further reductions as the sale progresses, so the longer the sale goes on, the better deals that you can find.
As for kids, I usually don’t bring mine. My oldest is 12 and my youngest is 4 – both boys. I have brought them a couple of times, but they usually aren’t very cooperative and can’t wait to leave. I have never had a problem with checking out (never waited for more than half an hour). However, I do know that there were unusually long waits last spring to both get into the sale and to check out.
I hope that they are making drastic changes to last years methods. I have attended for the last 4 years and last year was absolutely the worst. You were herded around the inside of the labyrinth of the building or on the last 2 days the outside of the parking lot for a couple of hours. I personally waited in line for check-out for 2 or more hours. Past years had lines, but nothing of the magnitude of last year. I loved going and made it a mother-daughter time, but both my daughter and I have said that we are not going if it is going to be the same as last year. We travel too far for that kind of time loss.
I’m so excited about going to the sale for the first time! I was wondering, does it cost anything to get in the sale? I’m driving from 5hrs away and I’d like to be prepared when I get there! :]
Hi Sarah,
There will probably be a registration fee. Last year I think the fee was $10, and you could register online starting about a month prior to the sale. I will post some information here when I find out the details. The Memorial Coliseum also charges a parking fee – if I remember correctly, it was $4.00 the last time I was there.
HELLO- I WENT IN O8 FOR THE FIRST TIME. IT WAS FUN. I DID SEE PEOPLE USING TOTES ON WHEELS. I HAD GOTTEN ONE TO USE FOR THIS YEAR. YES IT IS A LONG WAIT AFTER YOU HAVE CARRIED THOSE HEAVY BAGS AROUND. I ALSO AM DRIVING 12 HOURS AWAY AND HOPE THE WEATHER WILL BE GREAT. THIS YEAR I AM HOPING TO MAKE IT A MOM AND DAUGHTER EVENT. BEFORE MY SON DROVE ME THERE. IT WAS A MOTHERS DAY GIFT. NOT KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT WE TOOK A TRUCK. NOT NEEDED. THE PRICE OF GAS THEN WAS $4.50. IT WILL BE A GREAT TIME.
This will be the first year for us and I have heard about all the fun…internet registration for the sale is up, which we completed yesterday and it is still $5 each person. I am actually pulling down my old baby stroller to use….
I remember reading here that a VB fan worked at an area hotel and was offering discount room rates during the show. IS that person still out there? I may arrive on Wednesday evening and get to the show bright & early on Thursday.
If someone knows of great rates or is that person, email me, please.
I think it was at a Holiday Inn Express for like $50.
thanks!!

Hi Carol,
Here was the original comment: http://discountfabrichandbags.com/blog/a-few-more-vera-bradley-outlet-sale-updates/#comments
Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with the hotel, so I can’t vouch one way or the other for it. Looking at the map, it does look like it’s near the Memorial Coliseum (if I had to guess, about ten minutes away).
I’m going for the first time this year and am bringing a few friends. Can I be the only one register and just make several purchases for myself and friends using my registration? I’m sure that 4 or 5 of us won’t meet the 2,500.00 maximum.
Hi Charissa,
I think you probably could get away with only one registration, as long as your friends would reimburse you. If they needed to check out separately (i.e. if they needed to use their credit card or write a check), then I think they would need to register separately.
