Did you see any fabric for sale?

  2. Dawn says:

No, unfortunately I didn’t. They did have placemats, which I know a lot of people use for crafting…

  3. Holly says:

40% off retial prices found in store?

  4. Dawn says:

    Hi Holly,

Most items usually start around 40% off of the retail price found in the stores, and then get marked down even more as the sale progresses…

  5. Nicole says:

I went to the sale on Thursday morning and was so excited about the deals only to be angry later that evening to get an email from vera bradley stating news about further markdowns. I got the curvy tote which retails for 62.00 for only 20.00 but the markdowns for Friday say they are now 10.00 – I did not realize they continue to mark down through the week. What is the selection usually like on Sunday? anybody? Also thought the hope grows apparel was beautiful.

  6. Dawn says:

    Hi Nicole,

If it’s any consolation, the curvy totes were going fast. It was hard to even get close to the table. One of the worker set down a pile of thirty pinwheel pink totes, and within less than a minute, they were all gone! I have never went on Sunday (usually broke by then), but the selection is usually decent still on Saturdays, although there are not as many prints available. I agree with you – the Hope Grows apparel is beautiful.

I was wondering if there is going to be a fall sale this year? Does anyone know? Thank you in advance.

  8. Carrie says:

I went on Sat and Sun There was basically the same thing both days, most things were not any cheaper on Sun than they were on Sun, only a few dollars less for backpacks, most everything was the same pattern

I am looking for a Botanica Garment Bag, have been looking on the web,
    any suggestions. Thanks!!

  10. Dawn says:

Hi Susan, I checked both ebay and Amazon, and did not come across one in the Botanica print. If I were you, I would keep an eye on these sites, and maybe even email some of the eBay powersellers, to try to track it down.

  11. susan says:

    Thanks Dawn!!

  12. Erin says:

Did they have any new patterns such as purple punch? If so what pieces and how much were they?

  13. cheryl says:

does anyone know if there will be a fall warehouse sale?

  14. Dawn says:

They have not announced any dates for a fall outlet sale. As soon as I hear anything about one, I will post the information here on my blog…

I don’t know when the above pictures were taken nor when the author went to the sale, but I attended last year on Saturday (the second to the last day).
My friend and I waited at least an hour to get in, then at least 2 hours to check out through a line that weaved back and forth. All of the staff were very friendly, but I have never waited in lines this long..not even at Disney World!!!

  16. Do you have an outlet in florida,I live near saint augustine.

  17. andyliz says:

can’t wait for the sale! we are doing a girls weekend. does anyone know of other “cute” shopping spots in the area?

  18. Dawn says:

So glad you’re coming to the sale! There are actually some great shopping spots in Fort Wayne. The sale is held just a couple of miles down the road from Glenbrook Mall – it’s a huge indoor mall with two floors and lots of places to shop. There is also a large outdoor mall located on the southwest side of town called Jefferson Pointe. In past years, the Vera Bradley company had shuttles that ran back and forth between Jefferson Pointe and the Memorial Coliseum. Vera Bradley has a beautiful store at Jefferson Pointe, and it’s a great mall to visit, especially if the weather is nice (always a toss up in April). If you do go to Jefferson Pointe, make sure you also check out the DeBrand’s chocolate shop – yum!

  19. Dawn says:

    Hi Catherine,

At this time, I think there is only an outlet store in Illinois – not sure if they will be adding any more. They also have a big warehouse sale in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in April (that’s where these pictures were taken).

  20. Holly says:

Hi Dawn–My girlfriend and I are FIRST time newbies to this event. We have gone to the AG Sale in Madison WI—but the tickets were assigned times to get in. I noticed that there is no assigned time….so how does that work? If it opens at 8:00–what time to we need to be IN LINE to get in by 8:30 and also….where do you recommend we stay—-or NOT STAY? We are planning to drive the 4.5/5 hours and arrive the Wed. evening before the sale. And..do we need to bring our own bags to tote stuff around in?
I appreciate any help/suggestions you can offer.
    Thank you,
    Holly

Vera Bradley is my faviorte they are so pretty and i have so many i have to switch twice a day

  22. Brenda says:

Has anyone ever gone on Sunday?? Are the prices much different from Saturday to Sunday??

  23. Dawn says:

    Hi Holly,

Vera Bradley has a list of good places to stay on their website: http://www.verabradley.com/content/content.jsp?pageName=outletsale – the Holiday Inn IPFW at Coliseum is the closest (it’s right across the street). I really don’t know what to tell you as far as when the best time to get in line – it’s different every year. I usually go after dropping the kids off at school, and I have been lucky, because I have never really had to wait to get into the sale. You don’t need to bring your own bags to tote items around – if it’s like previous years, you will get a big pink plastic bag to put your purchases in while browsing. Hope you have fun!

  24. Dawn says:

    Hi Brenda,

The prices are super low on Sunday, but the selection is picked over.

  25. Tabby says:

Do you have to bring cash? or can you pay with you debit card/credit card?!

  26. Dawn says:

    Hi Tabby,

Yes, you can pay with debit/credit cards, as well as cash and checks.

  27. Amanda says:

    Do they take American Express?

  28. Dawn says:

    Hi Amanda,

I really don’t know if they take American Express, but if I had to guess, I would say yes, based on that they accept American Express for website purchases.

  29. Terri says:

Any body go yesterday to the sale? just wondering how it was? I’m planning to go tomorrow (Saturday). Went last year on Sunday (last day of the sale) and the prices were awesome.

  30. Noreen says:

I JUST WENT TO THE 2010 SPRING SALE WE GOT THERE AT NOON AND WAITED 2 HOURS TO GET IN THE COLISEUM. IT WAS A 45 MIN. WAIT TO GET INTO A PORT-A-POTTY. WE SHOPPED FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF AND THEN WAITED 2 HOURS TO CHECK OUT!! WE KNEW IT WOULD BE AN ADVENTURE BUT I WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE AN ASSIGNED TIME SO THE WAIT WASN’T SO LONG. I WAITED LESS TIME IN DISNEY AND WAS IN A MORE COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT. THE GOOD NEWS WAS THAT THE PRICES WERE GOOD AND I SPENT THE DAY WITH MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER. IT SOUNDS LIKE A BETTER TIME TO GO IS IN THE LATE AFTERNOON.

  31. Camille says:

I went on Saturday this year and the prices were amazing! Next year we are planning on going on the first day and the last day. :D

  32. De says:

MY DAUGHTER AND I CAME FROM 10 HOURS AWAY. I HAD GONE BEFORE AND IT WAS GREAT. BUT THIS YEAR I WAS TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SET UP. WE GOT THERE AT 7 AM AND DID NOT GET IN TILL 9. TOOK 2 HOURS TOO CHECK OUT. IT WAS TO MUCH WASTED TIME. THEY SHOULD OFFER FREE COFFEE AND DONUTS WHILE WAITING.

  33. Martha says:

My daughter and I took a day off of work to go to the sale on Friday. At 10:00 we arrived to find a line with a 4 1/2 hour wait. We tried again at 1:00 and at 3:00, the lines never seemed to get any shorter. While I expect a long line, this was a not acceptable. Since it was required that you had to pre-register, pay $5.00 ahead of time and then get a form with your name and a bar code on it ready for scanning, I only assumed that the marketing people finally decided that they needed to control the crowds. I therefore assumed that with the bar code, a limited amount of people would be granted a number to get in to that day’s event. WOW! what a great marketing gimick. They take in all that money knowing full well that reasonable people would not attempt to spend all day in line for a cloth purse. I intend to ask for the $10.00 back and possibly file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, not to mention the parking fee. I still wonder, what was the purpose of the pre-registration? My only answer was fraud.

  34. Ruth Dexter says:

I was pre -registered and I am very disappointed. I agree with the e-mail just above this note, that a refund of five and also the parking fee should be refunded. We got there at 9:30 and walk for 3hrs, and never got really close to the main entrance. I believe in view of the fact that you knew how many that were pre registered , that is would not be possible for all of us to get in, therefore this really is a fraud. It was a wasted day,and a lot of gas to get there. We had to leave at 12:30. 3 hours in the hot sun was agony too.
