Hi Julie, Do you mean 11:00-1:30? You should not have to wait in line too long to get into the sale (if at all).

Hi Heather,

I wish I could give a good answer to your question. Every year is a little different. In previous years, I have arrived at 8 am and walked right in. Last year, however, I arrived around 8:00 and waited for three hours. Wear comfy shoes, dress for the weather, bring snacks and water - that way if you do get stuck in a long line, you will be prepared! There may still be tickets available for Wednesday and Thursday - you can also avoid the lines by buying tickets to attend the sale on one of those two days.

Hi Chris,

The sale does have factory seconds, and in past years, these have not been clearly marked. You have to carefully inspect everything you want to buy to make sure the stitching is good and that all buttons, zippers, etc. work. Most of the items are discontinued patterns, although sometimes there are current patterns available.

Does this FW sale have seconds and, if so, are they clearly marked?
How about the discontinued patterns? Are they marked as such or do you need to just know what's old.
Thanks

I have a great time every year! Our whole family goes and we get more people each year. Yes it is a long wait..but you get a price list and a map while you are waiting so you can make a plan of attack then! We have a great time meeting others in line and sorting afterwards. This will be our 4th year..we drive 3 or 4 hours and get a hotel..eat at Ihop and girl bond! Great fun for us!

I agree with the two laides above! My twin sister and I thought the adventure would be a fun girls weekend for us and my 6 year old niece. We arrived on Saturday at noon and found a line all the way back to the end of the parking lot. I took my niece to the HIlton downtown to check in while my sister waited in line. We heard from many ladies that people arrived well before 8am and still had to wait in line. Oh, and yes since we had to pay to get into the parking lot to check out the line, and then again after I checked into the hotel, I paid twice within 2 hours. Many women at the Hilton told us they didn't even bother waiting and were not going back the next day. They were going to take the opportunity to relax and visit with friends. Once in, I was shocked at the groups or women hoarding piles or merchandise on the floor around the perimiter of the room and no one doing anything about it. No wonder no one else could get in the building, piggy people were camping out with piles of merchandise. You would think they had never seen or touched a Vera Bradley bag before. We wandered for awhile and then moved to the check-out line. We were in line for 3 1/2 hours to pay! My poor niece was tired, hungry and only wanted to swim back at the hotel, something we had promised her when we asked her to go with us. She told us that she didn't want to come back next year. I went back to the sale early the next morning in the rain while my sister and niece slept in and later when the weather cleared, went to the zoo. I guess I just thought, wow...what a great event, we are all here for the same reason. Not the case! I looked on ebay after the weekend and all of the outlet items were out there. I am happy to report that, the second day, the staff was announcing that you could only hold merchandise and sort on the floor or sorting tables for 30 minutes. I am guessing they did not have a great time putting back all of the unwanted merchandise that no one ever bought becuase it was hoarded for most of the previous day and then left on the floor. The trip did make for great comedy! I still tell people at work and those that are Vera Bradley fans that the drive from Chicago to Ft. Wayne was worth it just for the entertainment. Watching grown women have no consideration for others, storming a building, and being selfish.... all for a purse. We plan to go back in 2011, again, just for the entertainment factor. If you don't like lines, don't go. Luckily we have a very nice Vera Bradley store in Oak Brook, IL and an outlet in Aurora.
