Vera Bradley Totally Turq – A Colorful Classic

The Vera Bradley Totally Turq pattern, new for spring 2010, is what I would consider to be a "classic" print.  When I think of all the handbags that this company has released during the years, I usually think of the many eye-catching geometric quilted fabrics featuring paisleys, florals, and medallions.

Totally Turq is yet another one that would fit in this category.  There's no paisley on this print, but there are scrolls and medallions, and if you look closely, you can see a hint of floral on this pretty pattern.

It has an attractive color scheme too.  The background for this print is a soft turquoise.  This particular color is considered to be one of the biggest colors for not only the spring season, but for 2010 as well.  I recently read that Pantone LLC, considered to be the "world-renowned authority on color", named turquoise the 2010 color of the year, and had this to say about it:

Turquoise is a color that most people respond to positively. It is universally flattering, has appeal for men and women, and translates easily to fashion and interiors.

And this too...

In fashion, Turquoise makes a statement that can look elegant and dressy in fine silk and gemstones, or casual and fun in cotton and athletic apparel. Because of its versatility, Turquoise is a great accent color in jewelry, purses, shoes, hair accessories and even nail polish for women, and ties, shirts and sportswear for men.

The article also mentions that turquoise looks great when paired with neutrals and browns.  Looking at the Totally Turq pattern, it's easy to see that this is true.  The medallions and scrolls are in shades of taupe and brown, and the liner fabric features a chocolate brown foulard print.

Vera Bradley Totally TurqColor of the year or not, I really do like the Vera Bradley Totally Turq pattern!  With the arrival of spring, I think it would be fun to pick up this pattern in one of the new bags (maybe Emma or Alice).  Of course, some matching nail polish or costume jewelry would be fun too!  What do you think?
