The original Messenger bag is 14¾” x 11½" x 4" and features a 50 inch adjustable strap. It securely closes with two push locks, and has a generous supply of pockets. One long zippered pocket runs along the back of the bag, three slip in pouches are under the flap, and two more slip in pockets can be found inside the bag.
The redesigned Vera Bradley Messenger is the same size as the original, except it has a slightly longer adjustable strap, at 51½ inches. It also has a zippered pocket along the back exterior of the bag, but includes a slip pocket on each end. Instead of three slip pockets under the flap, it has two gusseted pockets. Inside, it's very similar to the original, but includes a removable baseboard for easy cleaning in the washing machine. At $84.00, the redesigned Messenger retails for $2.00 more than the original.
