My son’s fifth grade teacher will be receiving a Vera Bradley book cover this Christmas…
The past few days have been unseasonably chilly here in northern Indiana, which has prompted me to start thinking about Christmas! I have been working on my shopping list, and I have just checked my son’s fifth grade teacher off of my list. We (my son and I) have decided to give her a quilted Vera Bradley paperback book cover for Chistmas. I purchased it for a great price, so there is actually have enough left in my budget to also buy her a gift card to one of our local book stores. Read the rest of this entry »
This giveaway is now closed - check back soon for the next one!

The Spring 2009 Vera Bradley Collection is not due to hit the stores until January, but it’s always fun to see what’s coming! I really like the new styles - let’s see if you do too!
Cupcakes Green and Cupcakes Pink: Mmmmm…I love cupcakes! Go ahead and indulge, because these fat-free and calorie-free cupcake patterns in pink and green will look great with your spring and summer wardrobe!
Purple Punch: Is purple your favorite color? If it is, you are going to love this fabric pattern - I know I do! With varying shades of purple and green on a black background, Purple Punch is sure to be popular!
Hope Garden: This cheerful pattern features big, boldly colored flowers on a white background. It’s sure to be a real head-turner!
I don’t know about you, but I love ‘em all!!! At least January is still a couple of months away - gives me some time to start saving up.
Which Spring 2009 Vera Bradley Fabric is your favorite? I’m still trying to decide - maybe the Purple Punch, but then again, it’s so hard to pick just one!
Well, I can’t sign off without including a poll - after you determine your fave, make sure you come back and vote! I promise to cast my ballot too, but I think I need to sleep on this one…
Just wanted to give everyone a final update regarding the Fall 2008 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale.
First, if you read my previous post with the price list, well - you can officially chuck it out the window. On most items, the prices have been significantly reduced! In the past, I have always hit the sale on the first day, and although I knew the prices dropped as the sale progressed, I had no idea how much they dropped! Typically, I always spent so much on the first day that I avoided it after that first visit (gotta maintain the marital bliss, after all). But today, I stopped in again, and I am so glad I did.
Here are some examples of the deals for Saturday… Read the rest of this entry »
I just returned from the Fall 2008 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale, and below you will see the price list. I typed it out while watching the VP debate, so I will apologize now for any typos (I’m not the best at multi-tasking).
Just a few comments about this sale. First, well…it ROCKED! The selection and prices seemed better than what I have seen in the past, and I was surprised at how many 2008 fabric patterns were available: Puccini, Frankly Scarlett, Night Owl, Raspberry Fizz, Yellow Bird. Of course, there were also plenty of recently retired patterns.
The prices were really good too! It seemed in the past that most items were 40% off. I think at this sale the majority of items were 50% off and more, and that’s just the first day of the sale. As it goes along, and especially by Sunday, the prices will drop even more.
My personal top “bargain hunter” pick - the Vera Bradley silk scarves. They normally retail for $40.00, but at the sale they were only $5.00! I stocked up, to say the least.
Well, enough chit chat. Here’s the list! Read the rest of this entry »
Would you like to get a sneak peek at the Spring 2009 Vera Bradley collection (waaaay before anyone else)? I would! However, I can think of only one problem - there’s several months (and several feet of snow) to go before I can actually purchase any of them! However, you will have a chance to get a sneak peek in the very near future, and it’s all for a very good cause. Keep reading to find out more… Read the rest of this entry »
As many of you know, Vera Bradley does not make a diaper backpack. Sure, they have the baby bag - and if you are lucky enough to own one, then you know it’s loaded with lots of space and pockets, both of which are must-have necessities for every new parent.
However, I know many people that pass on it because they really want a diaper bag backpack. For anyone who has ever had to lug around a fifteen pound baby in a carrier car seat, it’s no secret why this style is proving to be very popular with the new mommy (and daddy) crowd. With little ones, you need an extra set of arms. Of course, we were born with only two, and that’s the way it stays (even when we really need more)! So, if you can throw your bag behind your back and forget about it until you need it, well, that’s one less worry. And that is just one of the many reasons that more expecting and new parents are favoring diaper backpacks over the traditional styles. Read the rest of this entry »
With a little more than a month to go until the Fall 2008 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale in Fort Wayne, I thought I would talk a little more about what you can expect to find there. I remember the first sale I attended - I had absolutely no idea what to expect. This is surprising, considering that I live in the Fort Wayne area, and each sale receives a lot of media coverage by our local newspapers, television news, and even radio stations. However, none of these media outlets covered the questions I really wanted answered.
So, for this post, I’m going back in time, and remembering back to the questions that I had before I attended my first Vera Bradley outlet sale. With any luck, hopefully these questions are some of the same ones that you may have, and you will be able to find your answers here. If not, feel free to leave a comment below.

Hey Fort Wayne readers, I have some great news! Vera Bradley is opening another production facility, this one in New Haven. The company has hashed out plans to lease the Nishikawa building on Adams Center Road, and will add 490 new jobs over the next two years.
I drive past the Nishikawa building all the time, and think to myself, what a waste! Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the building is less than fifteen years old. Funny thing…my husband actually got a job there when Nishikawa first opened. He only stayed about two weeks, because a much better job offer came along, and thankfully, he took it (especially considering Nishikawa’s short stint). But now, Vera Bradley is moving in! I’m sure you will agree - our economy can use all the help it can get, especially with the migration of good manufacturing jobs out of the city, out of the state, and out of the country!
This is not only good news for Fort Wayne/New Haven - it’s good news for anyone who loves the quality of Vera Bradley products, and the fact that the majority of their products are made here in the U.S.A. Personally, I wish that ALL their products were made here in the United States, but unfortunately, they are not. To me, a sure sign of quality is that little tag that says “Made In America”.
Well, I am glad to hear there will be more Vera Bradley handbags, luggage and other accessories produced here…
